we are free.

Hello unicorns!! My name is Chela Jones. This is my first blog! I’ve wanted to start a website/blog/youtube channel for a long time. Yet, somewhere in between working doubles, losing the love of my life, and developing fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue…I lost time and motivation to achieve all of my dreams. Fibromyalgia is an autoimmune “disease” that I chose not accept because I can’t stand labels. But the fact is the symptoms are very real – brainfog, mind-numbing fatigue, all over aches and pain (just to name a few). Plus, the doctors wanted to give me an insane concoction of pain pills and anti-depressants to medicate the problem, and to “cure” an incurable disease, as they say. I refused this route and dove straight into the holistic pool of knowledge. I was already passionate about the holistic way of life, so this seemed like the right fit. But I still felt very helpless at times and was unable to focus on my goals and intentions. I could not live the life I truly wanted and needed. Always striving to keep a positive mindset, I wanted to get to the root of the problem and overcome, heal, and help others in the process. So I chose to heal myself. Naturally. Holistically. Using FOOD as MEDICINE! The ultimate medicine – clean, organic, whole foods! What could be more simple, right? Wrong. Through trial and error, I discovered food sensitivities. I uncovered that I was gluten-intolerant. I learned what foods didn’t agree with me and when not to eat certain foods. But this wasn’t enough…too much damage had been done to my body. I had to heal my gut. Also, I have had my gallbladder removed, which caused a lot of problems with proper digestion. I began taking probiotics every day, along with other supplements. Practicing yoga & meditation. Working out on a regular basis. Getting massages and seeing a chiropractor. Using essential oils & getting reiki. And many other forms of therapy. All of this helped some, but not enough. I still felt like I was only functioning at a mere 10% most days. I also had become hypoglycemic and gave up sugar to cure this ailment. So, I had given up gluten, dairy, and sugar! I did add some dairy on occasion later. I was still plagued with extreme chronic fatigue! No matter how many seemingly healthy habits I implemented into my daily life, I could not conquer the chronic fatigue. Feeling like I was in a constant haze, unable to focus and hone in on my skills, unable to use my creativity to tap into my greatest potential – my highest self.

The feelings consumed me, yet I felt numb at the same time. I had also lost the love of my life, my soulmate, and I know this had a huge impact on my health and well-being. Emotions manifest themselves physically. I know this to be true all too well, especially being a highly sensitive person. So, how do you get to the other side? How can you truly heal yourself? That’s what my journey is all about! That is what I want to share with you in hopes of helping others heal themselves and live life to the fullest. To stay wild and feel free. To listen to your body and soul. To stay mindful and be present. To let go. To love. To learn. To grow. TO JUST BE YOUR MOST BEAUTIFUL SELF!! Along the way, I will also share creative inspirations, delicious healthy gluten-free recipes, fitness tips, travel experiences and gypsy journeys, lots of style and fashion looks, encouragement, challenges & gifts, and loads of gratitude & love! I will share my secrets, tips, and experiences in hopes of helping others.
